Standards are continuously researched, developed, and revised by industry groups and volunteer marine professionals. Our Accessibility & Safety Committees (ASCs) collaborate with these groups across the industry to gather relevant existing standards and research into a single resource of standards and protocol information specifically tailored for recreational boating facilities.

We use this data along with site surveys, inspections and community involvement to create safety systems that provide additional safety guidance, protocols and resources to owners, managers and staff in an effort to increase awareness, share learning and help improve boating facility safety implementations.

Expanded Safety Systems and Protocol Learning for Recreational Boating Facilities covers all the major facilities functional areas. Continuous development and annual review of these standards will contribute to a reduction in the number of recreational boating and related facility accidents, minimize the loss of life, personal injury, and property damage while cooperating with environmental and national security concerns.
